Courtney Love doesn't like to keep her opinions to herself — frankly it's a big part of her charm. So, it should come as no surprise that in her latest interview she's offered some pearls of wisdom regarding everyone's favourite celebrity gossip fodder: Miley Cyrus. Speaking to Fashionista, she pulled no punches on the subject. "She has a crap stylist" she told the website, "at least Katy Perry lives out her insane fantasies and kids love it." Still, at least Miley's VMAs performance gave her reason to smile: "Miley provided me with endless laughs at the VMAs. The Harajuku Japansese girl little bear suit was cute."

Katy Perry doesn't emerge totally unscathed from the situation. "I liked Katy when she was in a black shag and the shy girl on Glen Ballard’s arm at events," she continues. "She was damaged goods by the time she got to Capitol [Records]. She really worked for it: ‘It’ being a career I find so boring it’s sort of sad, but what she wears is cute and in her own universe."
And, while she uses strong words about today's generation of pop tarts, she's also pretty critical of her own behaviour, with specific reference to her dress sense. "Obviously Lycra and Spandex and rubber were all bad ideas, but I’m very open; I always try," she admits, "it doesn’t mean I’m Kate Moss and always nail it."
