For someone who's a self-proclaimed scopophobe, Ariana Grande certainly knows how to hide it. Well, at least her first-ever Complex photo shoot and interview leaves that impression. The budding pop starlet sat down with the magazine for one of her more candid interviews, where she opened up about everything from being compared to Mariah Carey (she loves it) to her super-natural demon encounters (because Halloween is every day in her world).
"I was going to sleep about two weeks ago," she begins. "I had just gotten off the phone and as soon as I closed my eyes I heard this really loud rumble right by my head. When I opened my eyes it stopped immediately, but when I closed my eyes it started again with whispers."

This isn't the most terrifying thing in Grande's life, however (we know, we're shaking our heads, too). "I’m terrified of looking straight into the camera," Grande confesses. Alright, demons and late-night haunts are chill, but put a camera in front of her face and suddenly she's face-to-face with Freddy Krueger.
The rest of the interview is just as frank. She might be little, but Grande is America's next sweetheart (sorry, J Lawr), and that's just something we're going to have to accept. Hey, at least she'll be first to lead us into the dark — just don't bring a camera. (Complex)

"Miley looks like she is having the time of her life, and I think anybody who’s giving her a hard time is wishing deep down they were having as much fun as she is right now," Grande tells Complex. "People are being so cruel. I think that’s bullying, and she should do whatever the hell she wants. Everybody needs to have more fun. If it’s not your taste, don’t look at it. I get so hyped up about the Miley thing because I think she’s cool."
