When it comes to body moisturizers, I have rules. Three of 'em, firm ones. First, the moisturizer in question cannot be greasy. Secondly, it needs to take care of dry skin (because otherwise, what's the point?). Finally, if I'm gonna use it on the regular, it must — and I think you'll be with me here, folks — must smell absolutely delightful. In theory, these criteria should be easy to meet. In the real world, though, there are far too many perfume-y, runny, sticky, and otherwise ineffective moisturizers. This is why I used to be a body-moisturizer slacker with itchy legs.
Then, I met Juara's Candlenut Body Creme, and everything changed. This stuff has transformed me from a lotion agnostic to a woman who looks forward to slathering on moisturizer before bed. The thick, luxe cream is similar to a body butter, and I know what you're probably thinking: "Body butter, schmody butter — those are so greasy." Not this one. It melts right into my skin, leaving a soft sheen and no residue. Plus, the formula's candlenut oil is chock-full of essential fatty acids (always good for the ol' epidermis). Perhaps most alluring, the light scent is beautiful — vaguely tropical, slightly sweet — and all the "perfume" I need to wear on most days. Completely, completely worth every penny.
Juara Candlenut Body Creme, $35, available at Juara.
