How To Get More Likes On Instagram (With Examples!)

There's no shame in seeing the world through an Instagram lens. In fact, that very addiction served as inspiration for this awesome art project! And, hey, if posting photos of your breakfast is what makes you happy, then so be it.

We all get a little validation from watching the Likes pile up on our pics — which is why our interest was immediately piqued when Fashionista presented these highly scientific tricks for getting even more validation. Apparently, photos in which blue is the dominant hue receive more likes than any other color. With that and other technical factors in mind, we took to our own Instagram archives hoping to see if we were doing it right.

Some of what we found agreed with Fashionista's intel, some was a bit more out of the box. So, we asked our own Ida Hariri, photographer extraordinaire and the day-to-day manager of R29's very own Instagram account, to share her tried-and-true strategies.
