District 7 victor Johanna Mason has been described as fiery and fearless, and the same could be said of actress Jena Malone's fringed red Monique Lhuillier gown for the London premiere of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire.
Bravely fighting back a cold (and yes, she handed us her cough-drop wrapper to avoid littering), the starlet put on her game face to chat with us on the red carpet about relating to her character, Johanna.
"I think I do have a fearlessness," the 28-year-old told us. "I think maybe that's what Francis [Lawrence, the film's director] responded to in my audition. If I'm terrified by something, I want to do it even more. But, one thing that I don't have is the anger and violence [that Johanna has]. I've never been an angry kind of girl. So that was the hardest thing to really learn to channel and get good at."
Angry or not, Malone is undoubtedly fearless when it comes to matters of beauty, from the slicked-back blonde bob she sported here in London to the statement brows she rocked at the film's Los Angeles premiere.
"I think that you can do whatever the hell you want to do as a woman," she said. "You just have to own it. That's the most beautiful thing about being alive as a modern woman today. I mean, if I wanted to shave my eyebrows and call it a fashion statement, I'd do it. Just own it. As long as you have confidence in yourself, you can be the sexiest, most powerful person in the entire room." Preach!
