Whatever you think about psychics, there's no denying the world lost an influential talent yesterday. Sylvia Browne, a celebrated psychic and New York Times best-selling author, passed away in San Jose, CA, at the age of 77. Browne was famous for her strong belief in reincarnation, and she often assisted with criminal investigations. She worked with her son, who's also a psychic, offering readings, and founded the Nirvana Foundation for Psychic Research.
Sylvia's website announced her passing last night, but declined to offer a cause of death. "For nearly six decades Sylvia Browne dedicated her life to helping others as a spiritual guide through private readings, past-life regressions, and prayer groups that spanned the globe," said her site. "Having been called upon to assist individuals, families, and law enforcement agencies across the U.S. and Canada on criminal investigations, she worked tirelessly as an advocate for justice, receiving several commendations for the positive impact her contributions provided." The psychic herself also commented on the issue of facing death, writing on her Facebook page in September, "If you are afraid to die, you will not fully live." Wise words, indeed. (People)
