Just in case you haven't been inundated with enough e-mail blasts and commercials announcing Black Friday sales, the shopping holiday is only four days away. And, if you feel like shaking things up, why not go big? With the help of CNN, Doneger Creative Services, and Marie Bergfelt, senior spokesperson for Global Blue, the year's best cities for shopping have been rounded up and neatly packed for your traveling pleasure.
Together, the three scored the major metropolitan areas' ease of transportation, value, consumer variety, and shopping experience on a scale from one to 10. The top five cities are mostly your run-of-the-mill mega-shopping hubs (read: London, Paris, Tokyo, and good ol' New York City, which comes in on top). The remaining seven, meanwhile, include a pleasant variety of geographic locations and climates that could transform even the smallest inkling of wanderlust into a full-blown desire. Why go to Paris when you could visit Buenos Aires? According to CNN's study, the best leather tailoring exists in there; plus, the prices aren't out-of-this-world insane.
Dubai, Milan, and Seoul also made the cut, as did Vienna and Hong Kong. One thing the list doesn't cover, however, is how insane Black Friday shopping (and overall holiday buying) really is. The jury's out as to whether shopping in the City of Lights is as hectic as it is in the States come November 29. Hey, there's only one way to find out! Better get them flights booked.
