Well, it's official: Hair books have made the leap from the salon waiting room and into our hearts. Don't believe us? Check out The Cut's preview of Laurent Philippon's upcoming book, Hair: Fashion and Fantasy — it's a dazzling exploration of styles from fashion history and film. While The Cut cheekily refers to the book as a "tome," we're not sure 320 pages will be enough space to satisfy our hunger for all the things Philippon wants to show us.
The book isn't just gorgeous photos (though that's a large part of why we're so excited. Hello, inspiration!). As The Cut reports, "Orlando Pita writes about 'The Glamorous Mohawk,' Patti Wilson praises the Afro, and Daphne Guinness explains her iconic cheetah hairstyle." We want to read those things, like, yesterday.
The Cut has a whole slideshow of photos from the book, and they all really take eye candy to a whole new level. Every shot has hair soulfully in motion and, of course, so much style. It's finally safe to say that we know what we want for the holidays. (The Cut)
