Lululemon Gets A New CEO — Sayonara, Chip Wilson

Lululemon has come under a lot of fire the past several months for its chairman's offensive comments regarding the activewear brand and the women who sport it. So, it doesn't exactly come as a major shock that, as announced today, the company has made a few shifts within its staff.
Chip Wilson — the man who didn't exactly gain any fans for his "some women’s bodies" don't fit Lululemon comments, followed by his sorry-I'm-not-sorry response — has resigned from his position. WWD also reports that former Toms Shoes president Laurent Potdevin will step in as CEO. Potdevin will fill the role of the athletic label's most recent chief, Christine Day, who announced her resignation nearly six months ago. The new appointment could, and hopefully will, mean a bright future for the brand, which has created a huge fan base with its fashion-forward approach to active gear — but sadly turned many away with its hurtful and offensive comments, courtesy of Wilson. While the former chairman will continue to hold a place on the board, let's hope all talk of thigh rubbing will cease from here on out. Namaste. (WWD)
