Tour Mutiny’s Sweet, New Showroom

We've long been admirers of Mutiny, the menswear-focused retail project helmed by Gert Barkovic. From its humble beginnings in 2009 as a small, shoppable display inside 14th Street boutique Redeem, the brand has developed into a full-blown men's mecca in the last few years. Stocking a well-edited selection of items ranging from simple matchboxes to high-quality denim, Barkovic has her customer — "the brooding man with a meaty intellect" — down to a science. With a robust e-commerce offering, a publication, and a second retail installation inside Wise Owl Club barbershop, the team opened a brand-new showroom/workspace inside 52 O Street artist studios in early November. So, yeah — it's safe to say Mutiny has made it.
We spent an afternoon touring the well-stocked, majorly inspiring space, where every last detail has been carefully and thoughtfully styled. (There's even a rustic mini teepee for the official Mutiny mascot, Thatcher.) Ahead, get to know founder Gert Barkovic (a.k.a., our new creative guru) and her team, and get a sneak peek at the beautiful new location and the covetable wares inside. Trust us: You’ll want everything.
