Fresh from strutting in Mulberry’s latest runway show, the eccentric, yet quintessentially British model, Cara Delevingne is a natural choice to front the brand's spring '14 campaign. But, the gorgeous It Brit wasn't the only star of photographer Tim Walker's seventh shoot for the heritage label. She had to share the spotlight with some furry friends.
In the photos, which were shot in a beautifully bedecked 18th-century country house, Delevingne is enjoying an “English tea party with a Mulberry twist.” She's not joined by her legion of A-list BFFs (or the Mad Hatter), but by a menagerie of animals, including a cockatoo called Spud, a Jack Russell, a Patterdale Terrier, a Great Dane, a pelican, Pukka the tortoise, and Dusty the pony. It's quite the raucous guest list.
Ronnie Cooke Newhouse and Stephen Wolstenholme of House and Holme art directed the dreamy scene, and Edward Enninful perfectly styled Delevingne carrying next season's standout accessories. We're just mad for the Kensal shoulder bag and the Bayswater double zip tote. We'd also like the pony.
Mulberry brand director Anne-Marie Verdin absolutely raved about the shoot to WWD: “I don’t think I have ever been on a shoot with so much talent in the room…and I am not talking about our animal friends! Tim Walker’s vision gives a romantic, literary, and very British feel to the Mulberry brand and Cara has more spirit, true beauty, and warmth than you could ever hope for: charisma with a capital C!”
Seems it’s another thumbs up from the fashion fraternity and a big name job in the bag for our favorite model girl. You go, C.D.!
