If you took one look at Instagram or Facebook, you'd probably think that the most influential celebs right now were, well, Miley Cyrus, Miley Cyrus, and Miley Cyrus. Or something like that. But, if you actually crunch the numbers, you come out with a completely different result. Forbes created its own list of 2014's top influential celebrities using online market research that ranked more than 6,600 celebs based on polling data about their personality attributes. And, to cut to the chase, the secret to being top dog in Hollywood is apparently being white, male, and preferably gray-haired.
In fact, with the exception of Oprah and Barbara Walters, every person on the list could be described as such. (Okay, so some of them have decent dye jobs, making them only slightly gray.) Steven Spielberg took the top spot, joined by his silver-haired brethren George Lucas, Martin Scorsese, and Rush Limbaugh. No offense to these hard-working and successful men, but we'd like to see a little more diversity. Is that too much to ask? (Forbes)
