New Glamsquad Beauty App Is Like Uber For Your Hair

Listen, we're modern ladies. We order our food through Seamless, hail cabs via Uber, and handle our dollars (or lack thereof, har har) via our handy Bank of America app. Almost every irritating daily task in our lives has become so high tech and convenient, we actually get upset when we need to do things like ship a package at the post office (seriously, so tedious), call our doctor, or book a hair appointment. Ain't nobody got time for that — and, at this point, scheduling things in real time, over the phone, with a real person kind of makes us squirrelly. (Don't even ask about how awkward we get when actually having to calculate cash tips. It's embarrassing.)

Are we proud of how reliant we've become on our trusty iPhones? Not exactly — but we certainly love how we have more time to do more important things, like speak to loved ones or, you know, just meet our deadlines. So, we were thrilled to find out that one more area of our lives just got way more efficient, courtesy of a new app called Glamsquad.

With Glamsquad, you can book a blowout (or dry style or braid or updo) and have a trained stylist arrive at your door (or your office) in as little as an hour. All that's required of you is wet clean hair, a chair, and an outlet, and you're on your way to the most convenient hairstyling experience of your life. Yeah, this is what you call a game changer.

Between Glamsquad's convenience and affordability (seriously, a house-call blowout for 50 bucks?!), we think this might just be the biggest thing since Drybar. As of now, Glamsquad services are available in Manhattan and some parts of Brooklyn, but we hear there are plans to expand to more areas, and even more cities. (And, they're looking beyond just hair — we've also heard rumors that the overachieving new company is considering adding makeup, nails, and other beauty services to its roster.)
