Every year, Vanity Fair pulls out all the stops to bring together the biggest A-listers in Tinseltown. It's something the industry has come to expect — before Oscar time must come Vanity Fair time. The mag just leaked the 2014 cover and, well, it's pretty much what we expected.
The final product is a three-panel foldout with bigwigs and up-and-comers alike — Oscar nominees Julia Roberts, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Jared Leto, and Lupita Nyong'o join Idris Elba, George Clooney, Michael B. Jordan, Naomie Harris, Brie Larson, Chadwick Boseman, Margot Robbie, and Léa Seydoux. The whole gang all dressed to the nines (a sneak peek for Oscar night, perhaps?) and Julia Roberts got the best seat in the house: Idris Elba's lap. And, while the big reveal didn't take us by surprise (it's no secret that these actors killed it in 2013), we were pretty thrilled to see that the final group was relatively diverse.
Vanity Fair isn't exactly known for its diversity — in fact, it's a good day when anyone besides the Kennedys appears on the cover. It's a reflection of the mag's changing tides as well as Hollywood's. Here's hoping this isn't the last issue of this magnitude. The full book hits newsstands on February 11, just in time for us to start our Oscars bets. (Vanity Fair)
