When it comes to celeb red-carpet style, the looks can be a bit hit or miss. While there are plenty of stars whose sartorial sense of adventure is just as praiseworthy as their acting chops, others tend to err on the side of caution, resistant to stray from those metallic, mermaid evening gowns. But, at the amfAR Benefit Gala last night, it was the models who ruled the red carpet. And, yes, we noticed the difference.

Love it or hate it, some of fashion's most photogenic faces went for the truly unexpected. They feared not the feathery embellishments, the avant-garde colorblocking, or serious shoulder action.
