In case anyone out there is still unsure of whether Dakota Johnson is right for Fifty Shades of Grey, her newest cover shoot for Elle will prove them wrong. The actress stepped into Anastasia's shoes yet again, to super-sexy effect. She vamps it up in thigh-high stockings and fancy lingerie and dishes about what it takes to take on perhaps the most controversially sexual role in recent history. (In case you were wondering, her secret is that she "has no shame.")
But, don't think that means she's all about the racy content — in fact, she chose this role for way more than just sex scenes. "Reading the book, I found myself way more interested in the way they were breaking each other down emotionally than the sex scenes," she told the mag. "I think there's a part of a woman who wants to be the thing that breaks a man down."
Johnson — who happens to be the daughter of Melanie Griffith and Don Johnson — also got pretty candid about growing up in the spotlight. "I think people, especially the press, like to pick on children of famous people, and I think that's f•cking awful," she said. "Things get made up. It's so, so sad. And, there's absolutely nothing you can do about it as a 16-year-old. You're like...why? What did I do?" If that's not the gumption of someone poised to play Anastasia Steele, we don't know what is.
