Opening Ceremony Taps Magritte For Next Collection

This weekend, Opening Ceremony gave us a show that made us feel like kids in a candy store. Seriously, there was chocolate sauce dripping down the walls. And, just when we thought the imaginative duo couldn't top themselves, Carol Lim and Humberto Leon announced their next collaboration will be with the Magritte Foundation.
The collection will feature ready-to-wear for men and women, as well as a capsule collection with Manolo Blahnik, Birkenstocks, and Vans. The line is set to debut during London Fashion Week. And, we're quite thankful for that. Admittedly, we get a little antsy waiting to actually see designer collaborations once they've been announced.
This past year, OC has focused the brand on Belgium (hence, the chocolate wall), and starting this fall, the focus will shift to Russia. "The gay-rights issue was really front and center when we were talking about the country. We thought, is there a way we can bring light to this and refocus on the arts and fashion and culture?" Leon explained to The Cut. "How can we bring light to this country that is so strict about these issues that mean a lot to us personally?” Indeed, OC is keeping true to its cutting-edge nature. Now, we'll just have to sit patiently for a few days until the Magritte collection hits the runway. (The Cut)
