Angelina Jolie & Brad Pitt Stun In Matching Tuxedos At The BAFTAs

If a decade worth of humanitarian work, a repertoire of award-winning films, and mothering six children was not enough, Angelina Jolie has now taken it upon herself to mess up the red carpet rules. Tonight, in London, Jolie and Brad Pitt showed up to the 2014 BAFTAs both wearing tuxedos. And, of course, they both looked spectacular.

Angelia wore a Saint Laurent suit with an undone bow tie, patent-leather pumps, and minimal jewelry. And, Brad looked dapper with a fresh high-and-tight cut and Valentino tux. Their kids are not pictured, but we can assume wherever they are, whatever they are doing, they are probably looking impossibly fly, too.

The pair is in attendance for Pitt's work on 12 Years a Slave. And, though Angelina has taken a break from the silver screen recently, she will be making a grand return this May in Maleficent. But, before she takes on the role of one of Disney's most villainous queens, she's casting some magic on the red carpet with this suit.

While Jolie's previous red carpet moment was dripping with sex (who could forget that thigh at the 2012 Oscars!), this androgynous look is gender-pushing and subversive, though no less beautiful. Today's look confirms there is no singular definition of feminine beauty, and we can only hope it will have a ripple effect throughout Tinseltown. It would be refreshing and empowering to see more Hollywood stars trade in gowns for pants.

To call the couple's complementary looks "his and hers" would be reverting back to the gender binary Jolie is rejecting. So, let's not. This look is solely HERS. And, she betta work.
