Rad Or Bad: Are You Digging These Double-Ring Belts?

Although the opportunity to drive presents itself quite infrequently to those of us in the Big Apple, we're still big on road safety: We always put our seat belts on first — yes, even in yellow cabs. To us, buckling up never goes out of style — but then this latest trend forced us to reconsider our stance.
Double-ring buckles (or "D-rings," in technical jargon) are commonly used as fixtures on parachute cords, luggage, and safety harnesses. But, while it's popular in the construction field, the hardware is also having a major moment in fashion. We remember taking notice of this trend while scoping out the spring '14 Céline lookbook, and we're now seeing it across the board, from the runway offerings of high-end designers to the sales floors of mass retailers. Paired with decorative straps, this sturdy accent lends some punch to otherwise minimalist looks and adds a military-inspired finish.
We haven't come to a verdict on whether or not we're digging this trend yet, but to help you make a decision, we rounded up seven shoppable examples that show just how much these little hoops are catching on. Click through, and buckle up.
