Alright, ladies. It's time to make some room on your nightstand. Arianna Huffington's latest tome, Thrive: The Third Metric to Redefining Success and Creating a Life of Well-Being, Wisdom, and Wonder, is out on March 25, and everyone who's anyone will be poring over her self-help tips. Don't tell us you still haven't pre-ordered that sucker.
Combing modern science with ancient wisdom, The Huffington Post founder makes the case for achieving success while allowing yourself time to meditate, rest, and (yes!) sleep. At the risk of sounding "New Age-y," Huffington says that the business world is opening up to the idea of slowing down. "The workplace has become more stressful for everyone because of technology," she tells The Cut. "There’s no leaving the office, including on vacation, unless you make a conscious effort to disconnect. But, I think we women internalize stress differently. We have a harder time just brushing it off, especially women who don’t feel they entirely belong in a man’s world and overcompensate. You know the phenomenon of staying longer, going the extra mile."

"I love my work and I definitely work hard," she adds. "It’s not about that. It’s about making sure there’s enough time to also nurture yourself and live your life ... We need new role models for young women so you can be super-creative and effective and thriving without sacrificing."
Amen to that. According to Huffington, the "third metric" is based on "well-being, wisdom, wonder, and giving." In other words, it's not enough to have success or striking a work-life balance. It's about "how present we are throughout our life." By allowing ourselves time to relax and meditate, and refusing to sacrifice our work and personal lives, women can achieve what she calls the "third women's revolution."
Count us in. Oh, and don't forget to order a copy for your boss. (The Cut)
