Despite gossip to the contrary — which has been branded "horrible and inaccurate" by the rocker's rep — Mick Jagger and L'Wren Scott seemed to be still very much in love at the time of her tragic suicide this week. Upon hearing of his longtime girlfriend's death, the rock legend canceled his Rolling Stones concert in Australia and flew to Manhattan, where Scott's body was discovered in her flat. Now, he's posted a tribute to the woman he loved for the last 13 years. Warning: Grab a tissue.
"I am still struggling to understand how my lover and best friend could end her life in this tragic way," Jagger wrote on his website. "We spent many wonderful years together and had made a great life for ourselves. She had great presence and her talent was much admired, not least by me. I have been touched by the tributes that people have paid to her, and also the personal messages of support that I have received. I will never forget her, Mick."
The heart-wrenching message was accompanied by a gorgeous, black-and-white image of the late designer. We can only imagine the pain of making sense of this terrible tragedy. Again, our hearts go out to Jagger and Scott's friends and family. She will truly be missed.
