Ellen Page has had tons of support since coming out of the closet last February. "I am here today because I am gay," Page said at Human Rights Campaign Foundation “Time to Thrive” conference in Las Vegas.. "And, because maybe I can make a difference to help others have an easier and more hopeful time." Despite the flood of love Page has received, the aforementioned "easier and more hopeful time" is slow to come.
A letter, since removed from the Internet, was sent to Page by a pastor pulling the "gay is a choice" card. Rather than turn the other cheek, Page took to Twitter to address the pastor. "Being gay isn't a belief," she began after calling out the pastor. "[sic] My soul isnt struggling& I don't want arms of Heavenly Father around me."
Snarky, yes, but honest nonetheless. "A girls arms?," Page continued. "Yes." The rest is, as the kids used to say, history — Page: 1; Tuesday: 0. (Salon)
