Hollywood Legend Mickey Rooney Passes Away At 93

Just two months after the passing of Shirley Temple, Hollywood has lost yet another film legend. Actor Mickey Rooney died of natural causes yesterday at the age of 93, TMZ has confirmed. The former child star had reportedly been ill for some time.
Though modern audiences might know him from roles in The Muppets or Night At The Museum, the 5-foot-2 Rooney was one of the biggest teenage stars of his time. In 1940, he became the first teen to be nominated for an Oscar, and his lead role in The Hardy Boys series shot him to fame. He will also be remembered for his pairing with Judy Garland in films like Babes in Arms.
The actor's life wasn't without drama. His portrayal of Holly Golightly's Japanese neighbor in Breakfast at Tiffany's remains controversial. He was also wed eight times, including a marriage to screen siren Ava Gardner.
We'll miss seeing Rooney's jolly face. Raise a glass to a Hollywood icon, through and through. (TMZ)
