One of the greatest mysteries in the world is how Jennifer Beals' skin looked pretty much the same in 1983's Flashdance as it did two decades later on The L Word (2004 to 2009). Nary a fine line graced her face during those years. To this day, the 50-year-old actress still has that glow of youth, which the rest of us shed at age 19. So, how does she do it?
Like many people with perfect complexions, Beals believes that first and foremost, good skin comes from what you put in your body. "I'm not a drinker or a smoker," she says, "And, I'm 99.9% vegan." (She does admit to the rare day when "nothing but a hamburger will do.") However, that's not the full story. To keep wrinkles at bay, she swears by EverDeep's Intensive Anti-Wrinkle Serum, an algae-based product that she describes as "the closest thing to a magic wand." She is also the face of the brand.

Could Beals' perfect visage just be the result of this one wrinkle cream? Based on everything we know about the skin-care powers of algae, it seems highly possible. EverDeep's line uses Algasome, an algae derivative that the brand says is "rich in fatty acids, amino acids, antioxidants, and vitamins B, D, and E." That's basically all the good-for-yous one could possibly pack into a single ingredient.
The other part of Beals' beauty routine we're thinking of co-opting is her philosophy. When we asked her if she had any beauty advice, she responded, "This is what I've sorted out — kindness, sleep, hydrate, meditate, sex, moisturize, and eat well. Though not necessarily in that order!" Sounds like all the best things in the world to us. And, hey, if all that self-love could result in better skin, why not?
