It's been a pretty rough week for fictional royalty (ahem, Game of Thrones), but a pretty awesome one for real royalty. Just ask little Prince George, who nabbed a sweet welcoming gift from his new pals in Australia.
After play-dating his way through New Zealand, the nine-month-old heir to the British throne arrived in Sydney this morning with his parents, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. (Side note: Mama Kate Middleton was ruling it in a canary yellow Roksanda Ilincic frock.) There, Governor-General Sir Peter Cosgrove and his wife, Lady Cosgrove, presented the darling tot with a giant plush wombat. Clearly, the kid's too young for a boomerang and a case of Foster's.
In addition to being one of Australia's cutest native marsupials, wombat was Prince William's nickname when he was an infant. Judging by the look on George's face as he clutched the toy, he too has an affinity for the animal. Let's just hope the royal crib is big enough for both those cuties! (People)
