A TIME magazine roast isn't quite the same as a Comedy Central one. The jokes tend to be about Charlie Rose, not Charlie Sheen, and even the likes of Vladimir Putin and Kim Jong-un come away pretty much unscathed.
Even so, Seth Meyers managed to nail a few punchlines during his comedic speech at last night's TIME 100 Gala honoring the world's most influential people. He even poked fun at himself, noting he's low on the list of honorees as he's just someone who "makes jokes about [Toronto mayor] Rob Ford in the middle of the night." Oh, Seth, you're so much more.

"It's so great making the TIME 100 because you get texts from all your friends who read TIME, and then, like a month from now, you get texts from all your friends who are at the dentist," Meyers joked.
The Late Night host made a few very tame potshots at his fellow honorees, pointing out that Pope Francis and Pharrell Williams share a love of excessive headwear. He also quipped that organizers knew honoree Matthew McConaughey wouldn't be attending the gala because he only "said 'alright' once."
Watch Meyers' full speech in the video clip below. Anything that starts with a joke about Amy Poehler is worth tuning in for. (Vulture)
