Even if you "welcomed" its return with fingers in your ears and eyes shut tight, Birkenstocks are back and in business. And, this inevitably means high-fashion collaborations. They've been splashed with rhinestones, covered in croc, and carpeted in Muppet fur. But, you know you've been waiting with bated breath for the platform treatment. So, bless the folks at Sacai for making our dreams — and nightmares — come true.

The manageable (but high!) platform Sacai Luck shoe is an official collaboration with Birkenstocks' Tatami line and features a two-inch lift slapped on the popular two-strap Arizona style. Available in black and white, the sandal is the equivalent of a gluten-free bacon cronut for fashion nerds. (We're hard-pressed to think of a more fashion-insider collaboration than this.) However, the hefty sole comes with a hefty price — they retail for just above $500.
