Are Celebrity Yoga Selfies Hazardous To Your Health?

If you're beautiful, famous, and limber, you might be tempted to do a yoga pose somewhere unconventional, somewhere you're not supposed to. And, naturally, you would Instagram it for all to see. It's called a yoga selfie (though whether it's a selfie if you don't take it yourself is something to meditate on). And, perhaps nobody does them better than Hilaria Baldwin.
Baldwin, who was a yoga teacher before marrying Alec Baldwin and becoming a lifestyle personality, has awakened the schvannza (not a word) of the yoga community with her increasingly out-there poses. It not only "mocks what yoga is," Jennilyn Carson of YogaDork told The New York Post, but it can also be dangerous for anyone who sees these heavily regrammed snaps. Poses, when done with a body lengthened and leaned by years of faithful practice, look far easier than they actually are, which could put ideas into the heads of the rest of us — the ones in the back row at the yoga studio, holding the wall with one hand and an iPhone in the other.
As for the criticism, Hilaria has defended her photos before, tweeting "True yogis don't make harsh judgements. So my advice to the haters: get on your yoga mat & breath & feel, until you make peace with diversity." A solid argument, but we doubt we've heard the last of this. Haters gotta get their om on, too. (Oh No They Didn't)
