Dog Lovers, This Magazine’s For You

We feed them organic treats. We dress them up for holidays. We take them to therapists. In some owners' eyes, dogs are basically humans. A print magazine exclusively about our furry friends seems like a logical next step. Australian-based site Four&Sons is banking on our collective obsession by publishing a semi-annual mag devoted to dogs and culture — two subjects it's been commenting on since 2011. The first issue's out, and it's 143 pages of stoic tales (and wagging tails).
The list of contributors runs from photographer Mark Ruwedel, who supplied a beautiful photo series of decaying dog houses in the wild west, to Dave Eggers, who penned a short story about an imaginary mutt. A collection of pup portraits taken during bath time is also stand-out, mainly because it's exactly as cute as it sounds. Click through for a teaser of the first issue, and just try to look away long enough to order a subscription. Man's best friend now has a platform — and quite a lot of things to say.
