Major congratulations are in order for Katie Couric, who married longtime beau John Molner this weekend. The happy couple kept things ultra minimal, especially in comparison to a certain recent wedding that shall not be named.
The intimate ceremony went down in Couric's East Hampton backyard Saturday, with only 50 very lucky guests in attendance. "We wanted to keep the wedding just very low-key," Couric told People before the ceremony. "This is not my first rodeo so I didn't want to go too crazy and neither did John."
The former Today host was previously married to attorney Jay Monahan, who passed away in 1998 at the age of 42. Couric's children said some words for the happy couple, which included a song courtesy of her youngest daughter Carrie.
As for the dress, an ivory beaded and embroidered Chantilly lace halter gown by Carmen Marc Valvo got the final nod. "I hope this isn't bad luck, but I actually tried it on for him," Couric revealed. "I tried on a number of dresses, and I was so busy, I had a crazy spring."
The 57-year-old recently wrapped up her self-titled daytime talk show and has embarked on a new role as the first ever Yahoo! News Global Anchor. While we're not quite sure what that means yet, we wish her luck all the same. (People)
