Anyone who's ever lost a pet knows that it can be a very traumatic experience. Just ask Miley Cyrus, who very publicly mourned the loss of her canine BFF Floyd, after he passed away in April.
For a while there, Miley appeared to have found comfort in another precious pooch named Moonie, but it wasn't meant to be. The bereft singer gave him up after only a week, telling fans that she wasn't ready to open up her heart quite yet.
Ladies and gents, we have some good news. It would appear that Miley Cyrus is finally ready to love again. So, who's the lucky recipient of Miley's affection? Let's let her tell us:

"I welcomed Emu Coyne Cyrus into the family a couple days ago," she wrote on Instagram Saturday, sharing a photo of her new furry friend. "Been keepin him a secret cause sometimes I'm weird like that."
Cyrus has been very open about her grieving process, which includes a full-blown Floyd shrine, and the lighting of a memorial candle every morning. "Never will I replace Floyd, and that's something I had to take time to understand," Cyrus wrote.
But, it looks like Emu has already carved out his own little space in Miley's heart. "He is so special and different than my baby Floyd, and I think Floyd did that on purpose," she added. "But sometimes he does little things that remind me of him, and it makes me smile."
We're all smiling with you, Miley. (People)
