If England had won the Revolutionary War, things would be quite different here in America. Namely, we probably wouldn't be called Americans, we could (and would) claim distant relation to the Spice Girls, and Zachary Quinto wouldn't have anything to complain about. As part of a new program, Quinto is the spokesperson for Newcastle and their new promotion relies on the entirely fictional scenario called Independence Eve. Really, it's just a fun way for Newcastle to sell British beer during a very American holiday week. But, Quinto's using it as a platform for his beef when it comes to transatlantic acting. He wonders why British actors often get to play Americans, but never the other way around. The reason behind this is probably that many of us sound ridiculous when putting on a British accent. Think: Paul Rudd slappin' da bass. Check out the clip above. It'll make you all kinds of excited to see him in his upcoming role on Girls.
