Love it or hate it, ombré is one dye job people just can't get enough of. But, those thick, chunky highlights that look rad on Kylie Jenner may not be right for you. Ombré dreams sunk? Not so fast. Allow us to introduce you to sombré, the subtler side of ombré that our friends at Byrdie have the 411 on.
Sombré, like its name suggests, is just a toned-down version of ombré. It's so coy, in fact, that blondes can even take on the look. "Unlike the ombré that worked best for brunettes in the past, sombré actually works for everyone," celebrity colorist Denis de Souza tells the site. Blondes who want to go lighter should opt for this dye job — you can test-drive the brighter shade without changing up your color too drastically.
Aside from blondes finally getting a piece of the ombré action, there are a bunch of other things to know and learn about sombré hair dye. Head over to Byrdie for more details, and then book your appointment with your colorist. This is one look you'll definitely want to give a shot this season. (Byrdie)
