Jessica Simpson’s Wedding Gown Is A Sparklefest

Jessica Simpson nailed nuptial glitz with her gorgeous, sparkling Carolina Herrera gown. The blushing bride and her groom, Eric Johnson, shared their wedding album in this week's issue of People, and from what we can tell, it was a lovely affair.
But, back to that dress. Carolina Herrera told People that she drew inspiration from a source you wouldn't expect to hear in the same sentence as "Jessica Simpson" — a famous portrait of Empress Elisabeth "Sissi" of Austria painted in 1865. Simpson told the designer she wanted to look regal, and that's exactly what she got.

For the veil, however, Herrera deviated a bit from Sissi's — although the empress does have a surprisingly current music-festival-chic 'do. Click through to see how Jessica was able create a look that's both modern and classic at the same time.

Can you say gorgeous? Simpson's hairstylist Roque Jimenez said her look was, "sexy, easy and ethereal...nothing too contrived." We appreciate it from an aesthetic level, but Jessica's radiancy hit now-husband Eric Johnson in a more personal way.
"I saw my gorgeous wife coming towards me and she was crying. I think my heart exploded a bit," Johnson told People. Adorable. (People)
