As suspected, Mary-Kate and Ashley are just the kind of best friends we always imagined them to be. Cool, thoughtful, will make you clothes when you need them. For us, this kinship may remain the imaginary kind — the one we created when we first watched Double, Double, Toil and Trouble. But, it was for IRL dear friend, Molly Fishkin, that the real twins pulled through — on her wedding day, no less.
Featured in the pages of Vogue's August issue — in which Blake Lively makes her third cover appearance — Fishkin shares the story about how the Olsens designed her dress for her big day. The Row creators collaborated with the bride-to-be, resulting in a truly exquisite lace dress with long bell sleeves and a matching mantilla veil. Of course, it was just the kind of labor of love worthy of their 15-year friendship. In fact, the bride tells Vogue that Mary-Kate and Ashley signed up for the task as soon as they found out that Molly was getting hitched to producer/director Asher Levin.
While this is the first wedding dress we've really seen from the design duo, they knocked it out of the park. And, perhaps it's even an indication of some bridal sartorial magic that may transpire when Mary-Kate walks down the aisle herself. Click over to Vogue for even more images of the dress and the wedding — the bride's godmother is Stevie Nicks, and she gave an impromptu performance of "Landslide," so, there's that. And, be sure to check out Lively's cover in the slides ahead, plus a few of our Olsen-inspired picks until an official wedding collection makes its debut (fingers crossed!).
