Just like all besties, however, Taylor and Ed do fight. They argue about chords in the duets they record (this may not be as universal as some other best-friendship stuff). Their most recent musical quibble occurred when Swift and Sheeran were working on "Everything Has Changed" for Taylor's Red album.

The day started out like any other we imagine when you're hanging out with Swift. "I went to her house, she cooked an apple pie," Sheeran tells a BBC 1 Radio host. We also envision Swift greeting guests at the door with a basket full of adorable kittens and an already-knit infinity scarf, but Ed neglects to include that over-romanticized detail in his anecdote. Details, Sheeran; details!
"She got [a little Taylor guitar] out, and she's like, 'I had this idea for this song'...and she pretty much had the verse, bridge, and chorus done, but we argued about that one chord," Sheeran continues. Well, musical collaborations should be a back-and-forth to achieve the perfect harmonious result, no?
Not when you're working with Taylor Swift, it seems. "[Her room is] surrounded by Grammys; she has like seven or eight and like Billboard Awards and Songwriting Guild," Ed explains. "And, I'm like 'this chord,' and she's like [pointing to her awards]." So, game, set, match: Swift. Do not argue in the presence of someone's Grammys.
Next time, may we suggest meeting in more neutral award-free territory? (MTV)
