Say what you will about Iggy Azalea, but the girl's got style.
Wait, let us try that again.
Say what you will about Iggy Azalea, but the girl's going to host MTV's House of Style.
There. Much better.
After a five-year hiatus, MTV is bringing back its iconic inside-fashion docu-series, and has tapped the Aussie rapper to helm the show's upcoming eight-episode run.
This season "will chronicle how the fashion industry evolves alongside music and technology," the network said. "The show will connect viewers to designers, celebrity style setters, emerging trends, and more."
Azalea is in the midst of a breakout summer, thanks to her polarizing hit "Fancy," which stayed atop the Billboard charts for eight consecutive weeks. Many observers have questioned Azalea's authenticity; she hails from Australia but raps as though she's from the Southern U.S.
"I will say that 'Fancy,' above any song that I’ve ever heard or dealt with, is a game-changer," Questlove recently told TIME in an attempt to defend Azalea. "We’re truly going to have to come to grips with the fact that hip-hop has spread its wings."
The often garishly dressed rapper may not have the fashion cred of past House of Style hosts like Cindy Crawford, Shalom Harlow, Rebecca Romijn, Molly Sims, and Bar Refaeli, but it's not for a lack of trying. Last March, Azalea spoke about her addiction to luxury swag, and the lengths she goes to get it. With her sweet new gig set to premiere August 4, snagging free swag should no longer be a problem.
