Anna Kendrick & Meryl Streep Go Into the Woods In This Magical New Trailer

This morning, I woke up and immediately thought: "I wish to see the Into the Woods trailer." It's no going to the festival or a cow as white as milk, but after seeing these stills, my Sondheim jones was officially on. It appears The Witch heard my wish, because poof, the trailer arrived today in a puff of YouTube smoke. I hope I don't owe her any hair as yellow as corn or a cape as red as blood in return.
Film adaptations of Broadway shows can go terribly awry (cough, Jersey Boys, cough), but this trailer looks legit. Director Rob Marshall has a proven track record with Chicago, and then there's the all-star cast. The film features Meryl Streep as The Witch, Anna Kendrick as Cinderella, Emily Blunt as The Baker's Wife, James Corden as The Baker, Chris Pine as Cinderella's Prince, Johnny Depp as The Wolf, and many more megawatt players.
There's not even a full song in the trailer but I'm already singing "Into the Woods" and "Agony" in my head. One Christmas, my family and I trekked into New York City during a massive blizzard to see the most recent Broadway staging of the Sondheim classic. I have a feeling we'll be reviving that trip with the movie this Christmas. Into the woods it's time to go. We must begin the journey. Watch the trailer below, then click through the stills.
