Why Kendall Jenner’s KUWTK Butt-Grab Is Actually A Teaching Moment

Stick with us, for we are about to use an incident from an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians as a lesson to learn. The scene: While siblings Brody and Kendall Jenner are ordering drinks at a bar on vacation in Thailand, a man touches Kendall's butt. It takes her a moment to realize what happened, but when she does, a shocked Kendall barely knows how to react.
"Uh, excuse me," she says to the bar patron, whose face is obscured. She then rushes to Brody's side. "That guy just grabbed my ass," she says. Her brother springs into action.

"Did you just fucking touch my sister?" he says.
"Is that your sister? No," responds the man, who apparently doesn't know how cameras work (we can see you, dude; you're being filmed).
First of all, does it matter if Kendall and Brody are related or not? Would this stranger have felt more or less at liberty to place his hand on a woman if he knew the relationship between her and the man she was with at the bar?
Then, there's his lackadaisical denial. Again, he is being filmed. There's evidence that he does, indeed, appear to place his hand in the vicinity of Kendall's butt. Plus, her reaction says it all. It's the "Is this really happening?" moment that occurs when someone invades your personal space — and it's not a feeling anyone should have.
Brody gets justifiably angry, although the clip cuts off before we can see how far his reaction goes. It's never advisable to respond to a situation with a stranger physically or violently, but his response will certainly help Kendall. It reinforces the fact that she does have power here, even though this stranger seems to think it's her word against his. Her indignation is valid.
To quote the MTA message on the New York City subway: "A crowded subway is no defense to unlawful sexual conduct. If you believe that you have been the victim of a crime, or witness to a crime, notify an MTA Employee or Police Officer." This doesn't just apply to public transportation. If you see or feel something, say something. Hopefully this Kendall incident will help Keeping Up With the Kardashians viewers absorb that important information. (Gossip Cop)
