Thanks to Skype and iPhones, it's fairly simple to communicate with loved ones across the globe. But, sometimes a heart emoji isn't quite enough to show just how much you miss someone. Sometimes, you want to express emotion in a way that's more lasting. So, it's heartwarming to learn that not everyone is choosing the digital approach to relationships. For example: Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie chose a more old-fashioned way to staying in touch while they were apart for work. While she was in Australia directing Unbroken, and he was filming Fury in London, the two exchanged love letters.
Jolie told Australia's TV Week magazine it was a way for Pitt to be "supportive from a distance," noting it was quite romantic. "We decided to be of that time when we could imagine he was in the European theater and I was in the Pacific theater and we wrote hand-written letters to each other that were very connecting for us, thinking of the people that were separated for months if not years at a time back then," she told the magazine.
Well, that pretty much negates the whole no-mail-is-good-mail argument. (TV Week)
