Wannabe the proprietor of iconic garments pulled from Victoria Beckham’s wardrobe? (See what we did there?) The designer will sell 600-plus items spanning Spice Girls Era to present day on THEOUTNET.COM to benefit mothers2mothers, a charity working to eliminate pediatric AIDS.
“Every single piece that I have put in to be sold brought back a lot of memories, a lot of really, really happy memories of myself and David, of myself and the children, of different events that I’ve been to — and a lot of these pieces have been made specially for me by the designers…these haven’t all been bought off of the shelf,” Beckham said in a video to promote the collaboration. “People have asked, aren’t I keeping all of these pieces for Harper? I’m keeping a few pieces, but, for me, it was more important to raise money for this charity. As a woman, we have a responsibility to really help and support other women.”
The sale runs from August 20 to 25, and you have to register today for the chance to shop. It includes a “Going, Going, Gone” reverse auction of 10 outfits — during which the starting price drops every few minutes. Among the lot: VB’s white, lace-up Dolce & Gabbana dress as seen alongside David’s matching suit at the 2003 MTV Video Music Awards and the yellow Roberto Cavalli gown she wore to her 2006 pre-World Cup party. The latter is so on-trend this season.
