Fred Armisen & Natasha Lyonne: How Did That Happen?

In real life, Natasha Lyonne is not a women's prison lothario who keeps a notebook of her conquests. In real life, Fred Armisen is a ladies' man who seems surprisingly adept at picking up attractive, Emmy-nominated actresses who are at least a dozen years younger than him. Go figure.

Against all odds, the two stars have apparently found love. With each other. No, seriously.

The Orange Is The New Black actress, 35, attended the Variety and Women In Film Nominee Celebration with the 47-year-old Portlandia star on August 23. The pair was described by an eyewitness as looking "very flirty and talking very closely," reports Us Weekly.

Two days later, the couple hit up the Emmys and several after-parties, reportedly with their "arms linked." Lyonne had admitted to sending a racy text message to someone during her red-carpet interview with Ross Matthews. The mind reels.

Our own cyber-stalking has turned up images of the actors hanging out at the Critics' Choice TV Awards on June 19 and Creative Arts Emmys on August 16. On August 9, Armisen posted a photo of the "beautiful and brilliant" Lyonne on Instagram. She, meanwhile, shared photos of her beau from the Portlandia set. And, is it any coincidence that Lyonne appeared on Late Night With Seth Meyers — for which Armisen is bandleader — on June 12?

One has to wonder how this odd couple got together. Armisen has a history of romancing younger women, including Mad Men star Elisabeth Moss. The two were married for just eight months. After their 2011 divorce, Moss called her ex "not normal," and Armisen himself later confessed to Howard Stern that he had been a "terrible husband."

"I feel bad for everyone I've gone out with," Armisen said. He also dated SNL costar Abby Elliott.
