How Kylie Jenner Wrote A Best-Selling Novel

Here's the list of reference materials we imagine Kylie and Kendall Jenner consulted while researching their dystopian YA novel, Rebels: City of Indra: The Story of Lex and Livia.

Apologies in advance, for we're about to rip off the Band-Aid. You'll be shocked to learn that this isn't how the colon-heavy YA novel, authored by the Jenner sisters and a ghost writer, was birthed. Kylie reveals the book's real inception in a new interview with V Magazine.

"Originally, we were going to do a book revolving around me and Kendall. Maybe high school girls or something like that. Then, we decided we wanted to do something that no one expected, like a sci-fi novel. So it actually has nothing to do with our life, and that’s what we wanted."

Or, does it have everything to do with Kendall and Kylie's lives? While we won't pretend to have read Rebels, we can imagine another purported utopia (that was really more of a dystopia) in literature that does parallel the Jenners' existence. The one in George Orwell's 1984.

"We don’t even remember a time before [Keeping Up With the Kardashians] and before the cameras and all that," Kylie tells V. "It’s all kind of normal to us."

The characters in 1984 also had cameras capturing their every move, and they adjusted their behavior and actions accordingly.
