There are two major news items here. First off, CeeLo Green's TBS reality seres was cancelled today, after the singer came under fire for some controversial comments he made on Twitter over the weekend.
Secondly, CeeLo Green has had a reality show?
After pleading no contest to charges that he gave a woman ecstasy in 2012 and then slept with her without her consent, CeeLo took to Twitter to express some pretty disturbing opinions about what constitutes rape.
“If someone is passed out they’re not even WITH you consciously! so WITH Implies consent,” he wrote.
After a swift and thunderous reaction from the Twittersphere, CeeLo promptly deleted his account. And, TBS was quick to announce the cancellation of CeeLo Green's The Good Life. When reached for comment, a network source insisted that the show was cancelled due to low ratings, and not due to its star's controversial comments.
Earlier today, the former The Voice judge restored his Twitter account, and apologized for his earlier tweets. “Let me 1st praise god for exoneration fairness & freedom," he wrote. "Secondly I sincerely apologize for my comments being taken so far out of context.”
Green added “I only intended on a healthy exchange to help heal those who love me from the pain I had already caused from this. Please forgive me as it was your support that got me thru this to begin with. I’d never condone the harm of any women. Thank you.” (Variety)
