H&M's sister brand & Other Stories is like its cool, hip older sibling — the one that wears all black and goes to shows for bands you've never heard of. Its latest collaboration certainly lives up to that hype. To top off its indie cred, the retailer teamed up with fellow Swede Lykke Li to create a wardrobe fit for a rock star.
The singer worked with & Other Stories' ready-to-wear designer Behnaz Aram to create a 23-item collection that oozes Scandinavian minimalism. To wit, it's almost entirely black. The question that drove their process was, what items would Lykke Li bring with her on tour? The result is your go-to for solid quality and classic silhouettes made with materials like silk and leather — just what you'd need to hop from photo shoot to late-night recording session in style. It's a touring artist's guide to fall basics, essentially.
While the collection has a wide price range — starting at $29 for rings and capping off at $345 for leather boots — most of the highlights, including a pair of leather shorts ($195) and an oversized leather T-shirt ($275), are under $300. So, it's not H&M cheap, but with styles that'll last through winter and then some, the line makes for affordable investment fashion.
The collection will be available online in October, right as it starts go get chilly. New Yorkers can shop the Lykke Li collection in person at & Other Stories' first U.S. storefront later this year. Until then, check out the campaign images and start window shopping, right this way.
