Singing the national anthem at the start of a sporting event is an American tradition. It's considered a major honor for a singer to be asked to do so. An honor that often comes with flubs that can be the subject of national ridicule.
Ariana Grande is the latest singer to take on the challenge. The pint-sized pop star with the Mariah-style pipes took on our ode to the stars and stripes at the first Seattle Seahawks game of the season. As the reigning Super Bowl champs, all eyes are on the team this season to see if they can repeat their first-ever title win.

There was no need to worry about a Grande win, though. She absolutely nails her a cappella rendition of "The Star Spangled Banner." Grande even gives the notoriously difficult tune some vocal stylings of her own, and — perhaps most importantly — she doesn't appear to be lip-synching. (We won't go into the lip-synching national anthem controversies of the past, but just know they are vast and numerous, and contain some pretty major names.)
So, please stand up, remove your hat, place your hand over your heart, and press play. For America. (Just Jared Jr.)
Grande also shared some photos from the event.
