There are many things we miss about the late '80s/early '90s. Scrunchies. Early Madonna. But, we didn't even know we were missing three-button blazers until we saw them strut down Ralph Lauren's runway once again. The collection, as a whole, was decidedly throwback. Then, these popped up and took the nostalgia to a new level. For example, one of the blazer looks was two-tone: a sage-like camel with white slacks. Yes, slacks. The other was a two-piece, all-white suit in an iridescent fabric. This Working Girl-era outfit is perfect for a girlboss today — should she decide to re-appropriate the lesser-worn (read: dusty) items in the back of her closet in order to accomplish some present-day ass-kicking.
These vintage-inspired suiting pieces came in the second of two Ralph Lauren shows. Oddly enough, the first looked (way, way) into the future rather than towards the past, with the entire 4D Polo show projected as a hologram over the water in Central Park. Then, the garments of yesteryear called, pulling the American-heritage brand back to its roots. After all, Ralph Lauren dresses everyone from front-rowers like Julianne Moore to model Kendall Jenner and clearly spans decades of style. As for this particular piece making a comeback? Well, we'll let you decide.
