It wouldn't be inaccurate to say that Carven's image of spring 2015 invokes the great cinematic masterpiece 2 Fast, 2 Furious. Nor would it be drawing too many comparisons to say it reminded us of The Italian Job. Well, if not for the whole heist situation, then at least for the iconic yellow-and-black VHS cover that separates Charlize Theron and Mark Wahlberg by two distinct yellow lines. You see, for Carven, spring '15 is about speed and agility, but also about staying mod under pressure.
The brand sent models down the runway yesterday who were walking so fast in their cut-out flats and patent knee-high boots that we could almost hear engines roaring as they passed by us. With their box-cut dresses and zipped-up coats featuring one huge racer stripe down the front, it was as if they were all part of the same moto team, all prepped by a backstage pit crew that made sure their highly saturated blues and yellows and reds all matched the big square purses under their arms. Now, that's the kind of athletic training we could get behind.
