At one of her Vegas shows last month, Britney Spears shared some sage wisdom with her audience. "The best thing about your boyfriend cheating on you is you get to go on another first date," she told the crowd. This may seem like a fairly simple observation, but coming from the mouth of the "I'm A Slave 4 U" singer, it may as well be a revolution. Hot off the heels of her #GirlBoss haircut, Spears is keeping up the feminist inspiration.
In an interview about her new lingerie line, a reporter asked the singer-turned-designer what kind of message she wants to send with her collection. Spears responded: "For women to feel more confident and loving to themselves. I don't think you need a man in this world, anymore. I just think you need your self, a little love, and a bath." Is this the same Britney who once sang how her loneliness was killing her?

She continues to explain it's also important to her that her consumers know "every size is beautiful," and that part of being a woman is "to feel sexy and feel loved and cherished."
And, there it is. Spears is 2014's most surprising — but welcome — feminist. (Oh No They Didn't)
