Audience members have fun at a fashion show when it seems like the designer had fun making the clothes. And, it was impossible not to have fun runway-side as Tsumori Chisato's spring 2015 collection made its debut. Pinwheels turning on the walls made the entire scene feel like something out of a spring daydream. The clothing matched the mood, in a parade of separates and dresses that were simply joyful. Embellished with all-over sequins or embroidered with surrealistic lizard sketches and wavy stripes that even adults would wear, the clothes are perfect for a fancy spring picnic or an Alice in Wonderland garden party.
One specific silhouette, however, took the fantasy to another level. Chisato's one-shoulder twist top looks to redefine what it means to wear floral in the spring. But, for real this time. Instead of a 2D print, this top twists up the neck of the model and blooms on the chest, literally making the girl feel like part of the plant. Yes, these were perhaps the most daring pieces of the collection, but pulling it off means becoming part of a pretty damn chic botanical garden.
